Credit Controller / Finance Administrator

Job Summary
Take full operational ownership of the debtor book by proactively chasing outstanding payments via phone and email, negotiating structured payment plans, and driving cash collection targets. Serve as the primary point of contact for delegates, suppliers, and internal teams, resolving account and refund queries while maintaining clear audit trails. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across multiple accounts and payment gateways, including Xero, Stripe, and Amex, while verifying mentor invoices for accuracy. Maintain meticulous records and consistent internal procedures to support the wider UK finance team. This role offers full training to achieve Xero Certification and provides fast-tracked exposure to a portfolio of 30+ companies.
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills
- Outstanding telephone manner
- Confidence to navigate difficult financial conversations with diplomacy and firmness
- Resilience to not give up after one email or unanswered call
- Grit and follow-through required to manage collections effectively under pressure
- Ability to spot discrepancies, missing payments, or duplicate transactions
- Natural ability to produce accurate work with minimal corrections required
- Excellent common sense and initiative
- Ability to investigate an issue and propose a solution before asking for help
- Self-starter mindset
- Genuine comfort with learning software
- Ability to work fully remotely from South Africa
- Core UK working hours availability (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Ability to start at 8:00 AM UK time
- Experience working within the Training or Education sector
- Background handling B2C or delegate-led credit control
