Job Summary
Credit Assessor responsible for assessing loan applications within the Delegated Lending Authority, making risk-based decisions, and guiding lending policy and responsible lending practices. Collaborates with lending teams and third-party brokers to structure lending solutions, mitigate risk, and support development of lending capability across multiple channels. Responsibilities include assessing complex home and personal lending applications, exercising DLA with diligence, escalating to higher authorities when needed, reviewing self-employed and complex entity structures, coaching on credit policy and risk, and providing guidance on credit risk to customers and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in a Credit Assessment or Credit Decisioning role within a financial institution, or significant experience in a lending related role.
- Strong knowledge of credit assessment methodologies, and lending risk principles.
- Extensive experience in retail lending and credit decisioning.
- Experience with third party and broker lending channels
- Proven ability building effective stakeholder relationships across lending, broker and support teams.
- Previous experience operating under a Delegated Lending Authority (DLA)
- Excellent communication, coaching and relationship management skills.
