Credit Analyst

Job Summary

Prepare comprehensive credit presentations for new, renewed, modified, and existing relationships by gathering and validating financial data from lenders, borrowers, and credit bureaus. Analyze business and personal financial statements, tax returns, and debt schedules to evaluate repayment capacity, collateral support, and overall credit risk. Recommend loan structures, terms, covenants, and risk-mitigation strategies while assigning appropriate risk ratings in accordance with the Bank's policies and regulatory requirements. Monitor assigned credit relationships for compliance with approved terms and maintain complete, accurate underwriting files. Respond to revisions from credit decision makers and perform periodic assessments to track covenant compliance and collateral trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • Accounting or Finance degree
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in commercial credit analysis, commercial loan underwriting, financial analysis, commercial lending, public accounting, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of commercial credit analysis, loan underwriting, credit risk management, and applicable banking regulations and policies
  • Ability to analyze business and personal financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, borrowing bases, debt schedules, collateral support, and other relevant financial information
  • Ability to evaluate repayment capacity, liquidity, leverage, profitability, financial trends, and other quantitative and qualitative risk factors
  • Ability to identify material credit weaknesses and policy exceptions
  • Ability to develop appropriate credit recommendations and risk-mitigation strategies
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of the Windows environment
  • Internet research skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Accounting or Finance degree strongly preferred
  • Preferred Skills Prior experience in underwriting commercial and industrial and commercial real estate credit relationships
  • Experience with Moody's CreditLens, Bukers Tax Analysis, or similar platforms
  • Experience with financial spreading and credit underwriting software
  • Bilingual— English/Spanish
