Credit Analyst

Job Summary
Conduct detailed financial analysis, risk assessments, and credit evaluations for personal, SME, and commercial proposals by examining payslips, bank statements, and collateral. Perform affordability checks and credit scoring, then recommend approval within delegated authority or escalate to higher holders. Identify key risks, propose mitigants aligned with Bank of Papua New Guinea regulations, and ensure compliance with AML/CFT guidelines and internal controls. Maintain accurate records for audit reviews, monitor approved facilities for covenant compliance, and prepare monthly reports on credit trends and risk exposures. Take minutes for Credit Committee meetings and support periodic facility renewals. Work closely with Lending Officers and Branch Officers to ensure quality submissions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in credit analysis, lending operations, or financial assessment
- Strong understanding of PNG's banking regulations, credit practices, and customer segments
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- High attention to detail and sound judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, credit systems, and financial analysis tools
- Ethical, reliable, and committed to procedural fairness
