Job Summary
Review new business opportunities from the front line, providing early feedback on structure, terms, and client selection to ensure transactions fit within risk appetite. Partner with front line units and credit officers to structure, underwrite, and document credit solutions for clients while ensuring robust ongoing monitoring. Prepare underwriting materials, create and submit credit approval memos, and secure appropriate credit and risk approvals. Establish internal risk ratings for counterparties and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client's credit life cycle. Engage partners including Enterprise Credit, client coverage areas, legal, and market risk as required to support firm-wide initiatives. This role operates in the 1st shift with a 40-hour weekly schedule at Bank of America's New York location.
Required Qualifications
- 3 + years of experience with Commercial/Corporate credit risk management, credit underwriting, structuring, loan origination, or public rating agencies
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, along with ability to quickly learn new programs and applications
- Bachelor's Degree: Finance, Accounting, or Economics majors preferred with strong academic credentials
