Job Summary
Analyze credit and financial reports to determine risk involved in loaning money or extending credit. Spread and analyze commercial financial statements for prospective and existing loan customers, performing financial analysis and basic underwriting of loan packages including trend, equity, ratio analysis, loan structuring, collateral analysis, and guarantor analysis. Conduct loan reviews of existing commercial loans, recommend credit grades based on borrower creditworthiness, and evaluate underwriting documentation exceptions. Perform CRE Stress Test Analysis and review rent rolls, construction budgets, pro forma statements, feasibility studies, and aging reports. Prepare stress models and projected income scenarios. This role offers a pathway to becoming a Junior Commercial Lender after completing the two-year Credit Analyst program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance with a minimum of 12 hours of accounting and/or 18 hours of finance
- Minimum two-year banking experience
- Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret complex financial information and identify relevant risks
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to compute interest, payments, profit and loss, financial ratios, percentage, cash flow and debt service
- Able to perform very simple algebra
- Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias
- Ability to prepare memos, internal loan applications, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar
- Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses
- Open to relocation within the State of Texas and Oklahoma if necessary
