Job Summary
Analyze credit and financial reports to determine risk involved in loaning money or extending credit. Spread and analyze commercial financial statements for prospective and existing loan customers. Perform financial analysis and basic underwriting of loan packages, including trend, equity, and ratio analysis, loan structuring, collateral analysis, and guarantor evaluation. Conduct loan reviews of existing commercial loans and identify documentation exceptions. Recommend credit grades based on borrower creditworthiness and loan performance. Perform CRE stress test analysis and review rent rolls, construction budgets, pro forma statements, and feasibility studies. Prepare stress models and projected income scenarios. Evaluate underwriting and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance with a minimum of 12 hours of accounting and/or 18 hours of finance
- Minimum two-year banking experience preferred
- Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret complex financial information and identify relevant risks
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization
- Able to interpret various instructions
- Ability to compute interest, payments, profit and loss, financial ratios, percentage, cash flow and debt service
- Able to perform very simple algebra
- Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias
- Ability to prepare memos, internal loan applications, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar
- Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses
Desired Qualifications
