Job Summary

Conduct timely, thorough client credit reviews and risk assessments to support business intake, billing, and collections decisions. Evaluate creditworthiness of potential and existing clients by monitoring financial conditions, payment history, and business reputation using available credit and public information. Prepare and document retainer recommendations, credit controls, and actionable summaries for the Credit Manager and billing attorneys. Collaborate with the Collections team to resolve credit concerns, payment delays, and escalation matters while maintaining organized documentation for audit readiness. Monitor changes in client financial status or ownership and communicate material risks to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Two or more experience in financial analysis, credit analysis or credit management
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
  • Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc.
  • Remains stationary at least 85% of the time
  • This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis
  • Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs
  • This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff
  • This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time

Desired Qualifications

  • Two or more experience in financial analysis, credit analysis or credit management is highly preferred
  • Relevant certifications in credit management
  • Experience using credit reporting, financial research, and business intelligence tools, including S&P Capital IQ, Experian Business IQ, Dun & Bradstreet, Coface, or comparable platforms
  • Experience in a law firm, partnership, or other professional services environment
  • Demonstrated experience performing credit analysis, financial research, risk assessment, or related finance operations work
  • Ability to interpret financial, credit, and public-record information and translate findings into practical, business-oriented recommendations
  • Self-motivated professional with strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and staff across all organizational levels
  • Strong analytical, research, and critical-thinking abilities, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and sound judgment
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex credit or risk issues clearly for attorneys, managers, and leadership
  • Advanced MS Excel, Word, and Outlook skills with the ability to learn new software tools
  • Intapp Intake and 3E
  • Familiarity with law firm billing, collections, intake, conflicts, or client/matter lifecycle processes
