Job Summary
The Credentialing Specialist will provide credentialing support for the Medical Staff Office, coordinate day-to-day operations, and attend Medical Staff committees as necessary. Responsibilities include processing medical staff applications for initial appointment and reappointment, ensuring complete applications, managing communication with Department Chairs, updating credentialing software, maintaining accurate records related to malpractice insurance, and providing administrative support to various committees. Candidates should have a high school diploma, three years of administrative experience preferably in healthcare, excellent communication and organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. This role is crucial for maintaining professional standards and ensuring compliance within the medical staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Three years of directly related administrative experience, healthcare setting preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electronic credentialing systems
- Ability to train to a high level of proficiency
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Additional Requirements
- Must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment
- Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
