Job Summary
Credentialing Coordinator coordinating credentialing activities for Stormont Vail Health’s Medical Staff Office. Responsible for conducting primary source verification, obtaining and evaluating information from primary sources, reviewing applications and supporting documents for completeness, determining initial eligibility for membership/participation, presenting practitioner data for review, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. Serves as main point of contact for external queries regarding practitioners’ status; maintains credentialing/privileging processes and data in database software; supports continuing medical education records; collaborates with Credentialing Specialist, Director, Medical Staff and department peers; maintains relationships with key stakeholders and supports policy adherence and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to follow bylaws and policies, analytical thinking, and effective communication are essential. Familiarity with primary source verifications, FPPE/OPPE processes, and credentialing terminology (e.g., privileges, membership) is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED Required
- 3 years Clerical experience Required
- 3 years Experience with Microsoft office products including but not limited to; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Required
- 2 years Prior health care industry experience. Required
- Demonstrates ability to follow medical staff bylaws, policies and procedures. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to ask questions and to follow instructions/directions. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to analytically think. (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of change or database management. (Required proficiency)
- Complies with all policies, standards, mandatory training and requirements of Stormont Vail Health
