Job Summary
Record and deliver organized rounds, evaluate incoming patients, and prioritize based on assessment. Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns. Provide client education on home care, medications, and wellness updates for hospitalized patients. Assist DVMs with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures, including inducing and monitoring anesthesia and sedation. Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside labs. Shifts run 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM on Wednesdays and Thursdays. State Registered Veterinary Technician license and prior veterinary experience are required. Proficiency in drug calculations and ability to handle fast-paced emergency environments are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Contingent Licensed Veterinary Technician
- State Registered Veterinary Technician license
- Prior veterinary experience
- Flexibility with work hours
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Passing of a drug screen
- Passing of a background check
