Job Summary
Emergency veterinary technician role at BluePearl Port Washington, WI seeking experienced technicians to work in a fast-paced emergency and urgent care department. Responsibilities include inducing, monitoring and recovering anesthesia; triaging emergencies; obtaining vitals; performing digital radiography; monitoring and interpreting vital signs; recognizing arrest risk and initiating CPR; calculating medical math and administering medications; phlebotomy and placing IV/catheters; placing feeding tubes and central lines; mentoring and training coworkers; growth through leadership development and continuing education. Required Qualifications
- Licensed/credentialed veterinary technician
- experience in emergency and urgent care
- ability to induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
- triage emergency cases and obtain vitals
- proficient in digital radiography and patient positioning
- understanding of normal vital sign ranges and CPR
- phlebotomy and placement of intravenous catheters
- placement of feeding tubes and central line catheters
- mentoring and training other staff
- commitment to continuing education and growth
