Job Summary
Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, and provide client education. Prepare patients for surgery, monitor vital signs during procedures, and administer medications, anesthesia, and vaccines at the veterinarian's discretion. Obtain blood and stool samples, perform in-hospital laboratory testing, and take radiographs following safety protocols. Clean exam rooms, restock supplies, and maintain medical equipment while ensuring patient safety and high client satisfaction. Work 4 weekdays (10-hour shifts) plus rotating Saturdays (8am–12pm). Chagrin Animal Clinic is a full-service animal hospital offering routine medical, surgical, and dental care.
Required Qualifications
- State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in state of desired employment
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds
- Ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
- Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
