Job Summary
Provides assistance to the provider with patient exams in OB/GYN; collects patient vitals, documents medical history and current complaints, processes prescriptions to pharmacies electronically, operates medical equipment, and may provide patient education. Manages ordering of medical supplies and supports scheduling, referrals, and coordination with other care team members. Cross-trained to MOA duties and floats to other Southern Ohio Medical Center offices as needed. Performs duties such as pre-cleaning/decontamination, documentation in medical records, and assisting with clinical procedures and testing; supports insurance authorizations and patient care coordination.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Credentialed Medical Assistant - CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, AMCA required
- BLS within 90 days of hire required
- Minimum one month of on the job training preferred
- Ability to carry out patient care duties and operate medical equipment as needed
- Ability to document patient vitals, medical history, and assist with patient exams
