Job Summary
Assist and deliver patient care duties under provider supervision, including interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information in charts. Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and perform miscellaneous delegated tasks to enhance efficiency. Maintain safety and confidentiality while utilizing electronic medical records. Obtain current Medical Assistant certification or complete the required training program within 15 months of hire. This role supports the Brain & Spine practice at Kettering Health, a not-for-profit system serving southwest Ohio.
Required Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification/registration as CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, RMA (through AMT) or completion of KHMG Medical Assistant Training Program or MA program through an accredited institution of higher learning and successful attainment of certification/registration within 15 months of hire
- Current Ohio license
- at least 6 months of direct patient care experience
Desired Qualifications
- 1-year clinical experience in a medical/physician office setting preferred
- Practical knowledge in the following areas is preferred: examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, confidentiality/discretion
- Experience with use of electronic medical records preferred
