Creative Strategist, Brand Partnerships
$130,000–$170,000 year
RemoteUnited States
Job Summary
Develop native campaign ideas that align with brand goals and Substack's culture, then match those concepts with the right writers and publications. Own the creative pre-sale by reading briefs, building proposals, and pivoting based on client feedback. Execute campaigns from initial pitch through live work, leading client and agency calls to refine strategies and gather necessary insights. Craft pitch materials, thought starters, and points of view that help brands visualize their potential on the platform. Continuously monitor platform trends to feed real examples into future campaign iterations. This founding role on a small team requires writing frameworks from scratch and holding both high-level creative conversations and practical discussions with writers.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in creative strategy, branded content, or content strategy, at a publisher, an agency, or a platform
- A portfolio of campaign ideas you've taken from concept to live work, ideally involving creators or publishers
- A feel for the RFP process and for writing proposals that win
- Real instincts for the creator and media space, and a sense for what's fresh versus what's played out
- The range to hold a creative conversation with a CMO and a practical one with a writer, sometimes on the same day
- Strong writing, and the organization to run several campaigns at once without dropping the details
Desired Qualifications
- This is a founding role on a small team, so the frameworks are yours to write
- This position can be based in New York, where much of the commercial team sits, or remotely
