Job Summary
Develop creative headlines, body copy, and key messaging for marketing materials, blogs, and articles tailored to student engagement. Write content for posters, handbills, banners, websites, email newsletters, and social media posts while ensuring alignment with SAMU's brand guidelines and tone. Collaborate with the Marketing Specialist and Creative Services team to adapt messaging for various channels and maintain consistency across all promotional assets. Work within the Marketing Services team to ensure timely approvals before design and production phases, utilizing Basecamp for project management. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Preference is given to current MacEwan students enrolled in marketing or communications programs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in copywriting, editing and proofreading
- Strong understanding of brand voice, messaging, and tone, and the roles they play in developing marketing and communications materials
- Proficiency in writing for long and short formats, including digital and print
- Ability to adjust messaging for different audience demographics
- Knowledge of current marketing and communication trends, particularly in student engagement and experience
- Preference will be given to current MacEwan Students registered in a minimum of one class during either Fall or Winter term
- Enrolled in Marketing, Communications or other related Certification/Degree program
- Some evening and weekend work may be required
