Job Summary
Construct, assemble, and modify wooden crates, skids, pallets, and protective packaging for finished products and materials per customer specifications. Prepare items for shipment by measuring, bracing, banding, labeling, and verifying materials to ensure safe transit. Review work orders, packing lists, and shipping documents for accuracy, then inspect completed crates for quality and compliance. Stage, load, and secure shipments for domestic and international transport while maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, stretch-wrap machines, and material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks. Report damaged materials or discrepancies to supervision and assist in resolving issues while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Collaborate with Production, Shipping, Warehouse, Quality, and Customer Service teams to support operational goals and on-time deliveries.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational training or related manufacturing, shipping, or warehouse experience
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, shipping, warehouse, packaging, or crating operations
- Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment
- Experience reading work orders, packing lists, and shipping documentation
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping or ERP systems
