Job Summary
The Crane & Hoist Service Technician III is responsible for installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of overhead crane systems. This mid-level role requires expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems, leading crews through overhauls, diagnosing complex breakdowns, and mentoring junior technicians. Candidates need to possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of crane safety systems, and advanced technical abilities in motor controls and VFDs. A commitment to safety and high-quality service is essential. The position requires 7+ years of relevant experience and a high school diploma, with preferred technical training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 7+ years of experience in overhead crane service, industrial electrical systems, or crane modernization
- Expert knowledge of industrial electrical power control systems and circuits
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex crane electrical and mechanical failures
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and develop Level I and Level II technicians
Desired Qualifications
- Technical degree or advanced training in industrial electrical systems, automation, or electromechanical technology
Additional Requirements
- Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and criminal background check
- Be able to provide valid documentation to provide proof of work authorization citizenship in accordance with I-9 document
- Willing to travel to various work sites or training as required
- Willing to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary
