Crane Operator

Job Summary
Operate a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads, including driving to sites, setting up per manufacturer manuals, and directing helpers with cribbing and matting. Unload crane accessories from trailers and perform pre- and post-trip inspections alongside daily and monthly equipment checks. Carry tools for running repairs and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours per FMCSA. Follow appropriate safety procedures and OSHA regulations while working under direct supervision in long hours with frequent sitting, standing, moving, and climbing. Expect exposure to extreme year-round outdoor environmental conditions and potential weekend or holiday shifts. Requires a high school diploma, CDL Class A license, and knowledge of ANSI standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience
- Knowledgeable in OSHA Regulations
- Knowledgeable in ANSI standards in crane operations
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Ability to pass a background check
- Proficiency with oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with technical and functional skills
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks including loading, unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in transportation
- Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols knowledge
- Ability to relocate a 12 foot stepladder without assistance
- Ability to work at various heights up to 60 feet
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders
- Ability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis
- Good vision (may be corrected vision)
- Ability to see in color
- Ability to hear and communicate in English
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions
- Ability to see details at close range
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
