Job Summary
Determine load weights against lifting capabilities and inspect cables, pins, and sheaves for wear or damage. Move the crane in and out of jobsites with an A/D supervisor, ensuring setup on a stabilized road pad within 1% of level. Work closely with the erection foreman to approach erecting the job safely and productively. Perform daily inspections to ensure safe operation, maintain daily work and maintenance logs, and contact field operations for technical help on new parts and repairs. Adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules while keeping the work area clean and orderly. Must be properly licensed to operate a 300-ton Crawler Crane, willing to travel and work unscheduled overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Must be properly licensed to operate 300-ton Crawler Crane
- Must be willing to travel and stay out of town though workweek as well as work hours deemed necessary to keep job on schedule
- Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations
- Must be able to travel
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

- Working knowledge of crane and crane mechanics

- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
