Job Summary
Operate the crane and other heavy equipment including loaders and forklifts to manage the full flow of materials in the Venier team's yard. Sort and identify metals using testing and magnets, assess non-sellable materials, and verify the quality of received goods. Receive, unload, and route metals to appropriate areas while transporting and organizing non-ferrous material bins. Load ferrous products destined for customers and perform manual tasks related to daily operations such as sorting, handling, and organizing materials. This position is highly versatile, active, and physically demanding, with a large portion of tasks taking place in the field on the move. You will work in collaboration with the team in a physical and outdoor environment. AIM is a global leader in the metals recycling industry celebrating its 86th anniversary, with business divisions including metal recycling, waste recycling construction, welding assembly manufacturing, demolition, and car recycling.
Required Qualifications
- experience operating heavy equipment (crane, loader, or equivalent)
- comfortable in a physical and outdoor environment
- strong ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities
- well-developed sense of occupational health and safety
- proactive, field-oriented attitude
- Class 5 driver's licence (essential asset)
Desired Qualifications
- experience in a scrap yard or in recycling (strong asset)
