Job Summary
Collaborate with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs and guide the screening process for trades positions. Post job requisitions internally and externally, sourcing candidates through professional organizations, career fairs, cold calling, and social media forums. Screen resumes and conduct interviews to determine qualifications, while assisting with onboarding documentation such as offer letters and agreements. Develop collaborative relationships with business leaders, site admins, and stakeholders to foster effective labour relations between project teams and union partners. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction industry trends and best practices, including provincial employment laws and legal frameworks. Support the creation and maintenance of job descriptions, utilizing HRIS systems and MS Office tools to manage recruitment activities in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in full cycle recruitment in a high-volume environment
- Knowledge of the construction industry and trade unions
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Strategic thinking and excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi task and to function independently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with HRIS systems
- Advanced computer skills MS Office including Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and grievance or document management systems
- Valid Driver's License
- Knowledge of provincial employment laws, best practices and legal framework
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build superior working relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Construction, heavy civil, oil and gas, mining or similar experience
- Ability to travel to project sites
