Job Summary
Craft Carpenter responsibilities include constructing and repairing wood and wallboard fixtures per local codes and general construction principles. Key duties: set up trailers; study blueprints/building plans to determine material requirements; build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves; set up site per erosion control plan; hand-set forms and assemble gang forms; assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevations; unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials; perform concrete and rough carpentry (including walls, footings, gang wall forms, drywall, finish carpentry, doors/frames/hardware/millwork/cabinetry); build relationships with diverse individuals and perform other duties as assigned. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position; must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years carpentry experience
- Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred
- Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, and speak and understand English
- Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
