Job Summary
CPI Investigation Worker Trainee After Hours Response supports Priority 1 child protective investigations by conducting interviews, forensic assessments, and safety/risk evaluations to determine if abuse or neglect occurred and whether intervention is needed. Responsibilities include interviewing parents, caregivers, and others; assessing risk and safety; documenting information; testifying in court as needed; collaborating with law enforcement and community resources; and working in a mobile unit with on-call rotations during evenings, nights, and weekends. The role emphasizes crisis response, data collection, and working to remove or reduce immediate threats to child safety, with travel for home visits and investigations up to 75% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- An accredited Bachelor's degree OR accredited Associate's degree plus two (2) years of relevant work experience OR 60 accredited college credit hours plus two (2) years relevant work experience OR 90 accredited college credit hours plus one (1) year of relevant work experience (for various Specialist levels)
- Examples of relevant work experience in social, human, or protective services
- Ability to travel and attend child and family visits after hours
- Ability to be on call on a rotating basis and work irregular hours
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
Desired Qualifications
