Job Summary
Conduct crisis intervention via telephone interviews, individual, and group counseling for domestic violence survivors. Provide information on court proceedings, injunctions, and victim compensation while assisting clients to establish safe lifestyles. Serve as a resource for victims and community partners to enhance victim safety and increase batterer accountability. Drive a vehicle to transport victims to hospitals, police departments, and court appointments. Offer counseling, follow-up, and emergency legal advocacy within a normal office environment with occasional travel throughout the community.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a human service-related field, sociology, psychology, counseling, social work, criminology or related field
- Two years experience working with victims of domestic violence and or sexual assault
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Valid state driver's license
