Job Summary
Child Protective Investigations Specialist works under supervision to perform advanced social work related to protective services, intake, child abuse/neglect, Alternative Response, foster care and adoptions; responsibilities include gathering information from families and other sources, assessing risk, coordinating with community resources and law enforcement, testifying in court for emergency protective services, placing children in substitute care, and maintaining documentation in the agency system; position is mobile, requires a reliable vehicle and Texas driver’s license, and involves regular travel up to 75% with no telework eligibility; certain levels may qualify for certification-based increases and a DFPS stipend after tenure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree plus two years of relevant work experience OR 60 college credits plus two years OR 90 college credits plus one year (Specialist I/II/III/IV prerequisites)
