Job Summary
Teach District-approved curriculum and establish effective rapport with pupils to motivate them toward secondary grade education. Prepare classes, guide the learning process, and assess student accomplishments while maintaining accurate records. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and enforce behavior standards in harmony with administration policies. Serve as a floating teacher/support as identified by building administration on a daily basis. Assist administration in implementing student life policies and remain available for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year degree in the area of major study
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in area of study
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program
- Ability to plan and implement lessons based on district and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Ability to operate a personal computer and related software
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Close vision
- Ability to adjust focus
- Current Michigan State Police and FBI criminal records LiveScan check
