CPA - Tax Strategist - Client CFO Team Lead

Job Summary
Review monthly close work product, prepare and review tax returns, and provide proactive tax planning for a portfolio of business clients. Directly supervise one or more Client Managers by providing day-to-day guidance, monitoring workload and engagement progress, and developing their professional judgment. Serve as the primary senior contact for high-level escalations, lead periodic client meetings to review financial performance, and ensure management reports are issued by the 20th of each month. This senior-level individual contributor role requires a CPA or Enrolled Agent with 4-6 years of public accounting experience to lead the Client CFO Team at Hensley CPA Firm PA.
Required Qualifications
- CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation -- preferred but will consider highly experienced professionals without designation
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in public accounting, including tax preparation and financial statement review
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships independently and professionally
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or leading junior accounting staff
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online; comfort with practice management software (Canopy or similar)
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills -- especially with non-accountant business owners
- Experience working with clients in the construction, real estate, or manufacturing industries
- Familiarity with Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS or similar professional tax software
- Experience with ADP RUN, Ramp, Onvio, SharePoint, or similar firm tools
- Multi-entity or complex structure experience (S-Corps, partnerships, real estate entities, holding companies)
