Job Summary
Armed Court Security Officer responsible for protecting courthouses under the USMS contract. Duties include entrance control with security screening, roving and stationary post patrols, escorting judges and court personnel, garage and pedestrian traffic control, enforcing federal law, preparing incident and contract-performance reports, court attendance and maintaining order. Requires high school diploma or GED, at least 3 years of verifiable law enforcement experience with arrest authority, valid driver’s license, DOJ clearance, completion of a recognized law enforcement training academy, and ability to pass drug screen and background check.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency; all three years within last seven years
- General arrest authority experience
- Valid driver's license from state of residency and clean driving record for past five years
- DOJ clearance (department of justice)
- Graduation from certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy and able to provide certification
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
