Job Summary
Provide armed security at courthouses under the USMS contract. Responsibilities include enforcing entry controls and screening to detect weapons or contraband, conducting roving and stationary post patrols, providing armed escort services for judges and court personnel, directing traffic and parking control, enforcing federal law within court facilities, and preparing reports on contract performance and incidents. Requires the ability to detect and detain unauthorized persons, maintain security per post orders, operate security systems, and communicate effectively in English; must maintain valid driver’s license and obtain DOJ clearance. Eligible candidates must be at least 21 years old and pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency (Master-at-Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist, etc.)
- All three (3) years must have occurred within the last seven (7) years
- General arrest authority
- Must have valid driver's license from state of residency and a safe driving record for past five years
- Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice
- Must have completed or graduated from certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy and able to provide certification as proof
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
