Job Summary
Armed security officer role securing courthouses under USMS contract. Responsibilities include enforcing entry controls with screening, roving and stationary post patrols, providing armed escort duties for judges and court personnel, directing traffic and pedestrian flow on facility properties, enforcing federal law, preparing reports on incidents, securing unattended courtrooms, and maintaining order in court proceedings. Requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of verifiable law enforcement or equivalent military experience with recent activity, valid driver’s license, DOJ clearance, completion of accredited law enforcement training, 21+ years old, and passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency (Master-at-Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist, etc.); all three (3) years must have occurred within the last seven (7) years.
- General arrest authority
- Must have a valid driver's license from state of residency and a safe driving record for the past five years
- Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice
- Must have completed or graduated from certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy and able to provide certification as proof
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
