Job Summary
Court Security Officer responsibilities include enforcing entry controls and screening for weapons and prohibited items, performing roving and stationary patrols, escorting judges and court personnel, and directing traffic and parking on court property. Maintain security by detaining unauthorized individuals, preparing incident reports, and ensuring courtroom and facility protection in accordance with federal law and post orders. Requires English proficiency, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, DOJ clearance, certified law enforcement training, and successful completion of drug screening and background checks. Competitive pay under the USMS contract with Walden Security.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or equivalent (e.g., Master-at-Arms, Security Forces Specialist) with the three years within the last seven years
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand English
- Valid driver's license from state of residence and clean driving record for past five years
- Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice
- Must have completed or graduated from a certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy and able to provide certification
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
