Job Summary

Monitor live CCTV feeds and fire, intrusion, and panic alarms while operating the control desk to manage real-time access control and card reader systems. Process emergency and non-emergency calls, evaluate situations, and dispatch the closest officer, maintaining clear two-way radio communications with on-duty staff and external services. Document detailed incident logs and reports for legal record-keeping and operational analysis, ensuring adherence to court security policies and procedures. Perform five days a week including holidays under general supervision of the Security Director. Maintain professional demeanor and clear communication skills while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required Qualifications

  • at least a high school diploma
  • clear criminal record
  • no felony arrest or convictions
  • Ability to see up close, at a distance, in color and peripherally
  • Comfort in using dispatch software, MS Office, and multi-line phone systems
  • Able to type 30 -40+ words per minute
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle radio traffic, phone calls, and visual monitoring simultaneously
  • Knowledge of court security policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of rules of evidence
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing using proper English grammar and appropriate law enforcement terminology
  • Ability to remain calm and issue clear instructions under pressure
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods
  • Ability to walk, talk, listen, hear, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, run, reach with hands and arms and smell as necessary to detect security risks and respond to law enforcement concerns
