Court Liaison

Job Summary
Conduct pre-evaluation screenings for Lafayette County, attend civil commitment initial hearings, and act as a court liaison between Chancery courts and Communicare. Complete intake assessments, coordinate care for outpatient services, and ensure communication regarding court dates. Provide clinical therapeutic case management, monitor treatment progress within a multi-disciplinary team, and accompany clients to appointments as needed. Utilize DSM-5 criteria to assess symptomology, develop therapeutic alliances, and conduct outreach to engage individuals and community resources. Maintain client confidentiality, complete mandatory documentation, and submit reports to the Director of Intensive Services. Flexible hours between 8-5 Monday through Friday with one hour for lunch; extensive travel throughout Region 2 is required.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related field with current license or certification to practice counseling within the state of Mississippi
- Valid MS driver's license, personal auto, liability insurance and Communicare insurable driving record
- Acceptable criminal background check
- Satisfactory completion of CPR prior to reporting to the work site
- Satisfactory completion of CPI within 30 days of employment
- Requires completion of annual trainings in compliance with DMH standards
- Extensive travel throughout the region is required
- Efficient use of time management is required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a mental health setting is strongly preferred
- Ability to think independently is strongly preferred
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate client/staff needs is preferred
- Fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing of reports, scheduling, daily correspondence and presentations is preferred
