Job Summary
Obtain legal materials for the judge, maintain special legal resource files, and provide information regarding scheduled court proceedings. Enter civil small claims, debt claims, eviction claims, writs of execution, and garnishments; handle and process payment monies; and enter traffic citations for various agencies. Enter class C and Occupational Driver's License warrants, process civil petitions, set hearings and jury trials, and dispose of all cases. Balance cash receipts, calculate and post data into the financial management system, verify data entry accuracy, and submit transactions for processing. Provide assistance to employees, managers, vendors, citizens, and businesses regarding court functions and policies. Prepare department documents requiring knowledge of departmental policies, programs, and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of experience performing secretarial and/or administrative support work in a criminal justice system or legal environment
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
- Valid Texas Driver's License
