Job Summary
Course Lecturer to teach MIMM 214 – Introductory Immunology: Elements of Immunity for Winter 2027. Responsibilities include preparing lectures, facilitating classroom discussions, and conducting assessments (2 quizzes, 1 midterm, 10 formative assessments, 1 final exam, and an optional creative assignment). Supervises 4 TEAM undergraduate students and 3 Teaching Assistants, coordinates room bookings and invigilation, and ensures assessments are prepared and administered. Duties also include managing the D2L/myCourses page, providing timely feedback on assessments, offering regular office hours, and inviting guest lecturers on topics related to careers in immunology or autoimmune diseases. Requires expert knowledge of Immunology, ability to engage a large class, and ability to coordinate with TAs/TEAM students. The posting notes English-language instruction and the need to work in Quebec at the McGill campus; most teaching is in-person with potential remote/online adaptations if needed. The role is based at McIntyre Medical Building, Montreal, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology or equivalent
- Experience as Teaching Assistant for Immunology at university or CEGEP level
- Able to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to manage a group of Teaching Assistants and TEAM undergraduate students
- Provide engaging lectures to a large classroom
- Familiar with Student Accessibility and Achievement program
- Willingness to work in McGill University environment (Canada and Quebec)
