Job Summary
Drive company vehicles safely for deliveries, errands, and transporting caskets to airports, care centers, or cemeteries. Deliver documents, family mementos, flowers, and similar articles to residences or funeral homes while obtaining signatures and interacting courteously with bereaved families. Run office errands such as visiting the post office or purchasing supplies. Maintain company vehicles by washing, vacuuming, fueling, and identifying engine issues for management. Wash, vacuums, and cleans vehicles ensuring vehicle is presentable. Fuels vehicles as necessary; following safety guidelines and expenditure processes. Identifies vehicle engine or operating issues to management. Drives vehicles for repair or inspection. May assist Removal Technician with driving or lifting as needed. Additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current state issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- At least one (1) year work experience as a courier or driver
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability push/pull up to 200 pounds
- Significant amount of local and/or multiple location traveling required
- Professional Dress is required when in contact with families
- Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 2 hours per day
- Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 2 hours per day
- Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently
- Physical effort requiring manual dexterity
- Physical effort requiring attention to driving hazards, traffic, and weather conditions
- Working beyond 'standard' hours as the need arises
- Travel up to 80%
