Job Summary
Transport important documents, supplies, and specimens between facilities while maintaining strict integrity to prevent loss, theft, or contamination. Follow pick-up and delivery routes, charting the most efficient paths via GPS or maps, and handle non-scheduled emergent or urgent requests. Drive the delivery vehicle ensuring haul integrity, perform preventative maintenance including tire checks and fueling, and verify recipient identities and signatures on all receipts. Return undelivered parcels with valid reasons and adhere to OCH policies, HIPAA standards, and regulatory compliance. Maintain clear communication with staff and the Director of Facilities regarding route issues or encountered challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver license
- Ability to be placed on the OCH insurance policy
- Ability to work under stressful conditions
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, turn, bend, stoop
- Clear speech to communicate effectively with customers
- Ability to conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the highest standard of integrity, ethical behavior, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to adhere to OCH Code of Conduct
- Ability to adhere to OCH Policies and Procedures
- Ability to adhere to Scope of Practice within License/Certification
- Ability to adhere to HIPAA and HIPAA Security Confidentiality Standards

- Ability to follow pick-up and delivery destinations per route schedule
- Ability to handle non-scheduled pick-up or deliveries
- Ability to chart shortest and most efficient way to reach delivery destinations
- Ability to drive delivery vehicle ensuring delivery haul integrity
- Ability to read and understand instructions for care
- Ability to verify name of the recipient by checking identities
- Ability to obtain signatures on receipts
- Ability to return undelivered packs/parcels and provide valid reasons for failed deliveries
- Ability to perform preventative and regular maintenance on delivery vehicle
- Ability to perform general maintenance duties between scheduled routes
- Ability to access email to stay up to date on information within the organization
- Ability to perform procedures according to established policies and procedures of OCH
- Ability to adhere to legal compliance policies and other regulatory issues
