Job Summary
Conduct courier journeys to various locations, adhering to agreed routes and timings while ensuring all items remain safe and secure. Complete digital and manual documentation for legislation and organizational procedures, maintain regular contact with the operations office, and act as the customer contact at delivery points. Perform vehicle checks prior to use, notify defects, and relay relevant information to the operations office. Drive small vans up to 3.5 tonne Luton vans, complying with the Road Traffic Act and other relevant legislation. Maintain excellent communication with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders, and handle heavy lifting and manual handling of equipment and goods. Work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 07.00 and 20.30, with flexibility to cover shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- 12 months of driving licence holding
- No more than 6 penalty points
- Category B licence
- Ability to work on your own initiative
- Must be able to plan routes effectively
- Must be a good communicator
- Customer focused
- Able to remain calm under pressure
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Good attention to detail
- Must be able to use a PDA
- Good/Clear handwriting
- Familiar with the local and surrounding areas
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for shifts within 07.00 and 20.30
- Must be available Monday to Friday
