[Coupang Pay] Senior Back-end Engineer [L5] (Core Payment)

Job Summary
Develop and maintain Coupang Pay's core payment services within the Product Engineering team, focusing on the domestic "Coupay" one-touch payment system. Design and build high-scale real-time fintech back-end systems that support 10 million customers, ensuring stability and continuous improvement. Collaborate with accounting, treasury, and other fintech teams to deliver seamless payment experiences across Coupang.com, Coupang Itz, and open market sellers. Conduct code reviews to uphold high-quality standards and actively participate in cross-functional initiatives for liquidity options and BaaS features. Work with global distributed teams to implement agile methodologies and resolve complex issues in rapidly changing environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
- 3+ years of experience in basic algorithms, system design, and large-scale distributed systems
- 3+ years of coding experience in Java or similar languages
- Experience designing and building large-scale real-time systems
- Ability to achieve software products with appropriate trade-offs in rapidly changing environments
- Strong ownership, fast and proactive work style, and drive
- High learning intent and growth desire to quickly learn new domains and technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience collaborating closely with global distributed teams
Desired Qualifications
- High understanding of JPA and Microservices Architecture (MSA)
- Experience working in the Payment domain
- Experience with large-scale operating systems that include fault management and monitoring functions
- Familiarity with Agile software methodologies
- Experience with large-scale batch processing of big data
