County Extension Agent - Agriculture

The County Extension Agent – Agriculture conducts educational programs for county clientele in agriculture and 4-H youth development. Works with local leaders and stakeholders, develops and executes an annual action plan, plans and teaches educational programs and demonstrations, and provides opportunities for program participation at county, district, and state levels. Leverages Extension specialists and research-based information to design, implement, and teach programs; responds to clientele inquiries via phone, email, in-person visits; supports the county 4-H program including volunteer recruitment and fundraising; evaluates program impact and reports results to advisory committees and state officials; ensures compliance with civil rights requirements and maintains accessible programming. Collaborates with colleagues and partners to advance Extension mission and builds relationships with Extension staff, clientele, and the general public; maintains knowledge of best practices in agricultural production; performs additional duties as assigned. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, youth development or related field, ability to travel, and successful completion of required background checks; strong communication skills; and commitment to inclusive, research-based education.
