County Coordinator / TaRL Master Trainer

Job Summary

Coordinate day-to-day implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) project across assigned counties, ensuring activities are delivered on time and to a high standard. Facilitate training sessions for teachers, mentors, and education officials while providing ongoing coaching to improve teaching fidelity and learner assessment data usage. Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager, County Education Departments, and government stakeholders to monitor progress, identify challenges, and promote sustainable implementation. Contribute to project learning, monitoring, and reporting by collecting, verifying, and submitting data for weekly, monthly, and quarterly deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Education, Teacher Education, Educational Leadership, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in education programming, teacher training, classroom instruction, school supervision, or education quality improvement
  • Experience working with schools and education authorities
  • Experience facilitating training and capacity strengthening activities
  • Strong facilitation and training skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor teachers
  • Good report writing and organisational skills
  • Ability to travel frequently to schools and remote locations
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection
  • Proactive, flexible, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Satisfactory references
  • Appropriate background checks, including a Criminal Records check
  • Information from previous employers regarding sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, and/or sexual harassment (via Inter Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme)

Desired Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification or postgraduate training in education
  • Experience with TaRL, foundational literacy and numeracy programmes
  • Experience with teacher coaching, or remedial learning approaches
  • Experience working with UNICEF-funded projects
  • Experience using Kobo, ODK, or other digital data collection tools
  • Experience analysing learner assessment data
  • Knowledge of local languages spoken in assigned locations
  • Knowledge of South Sudan education systems and structures
