Job Summary
Country Risk Middle Office Associate responsible for owning and overseeing key control processes to identify and resolve data quality issues within the firm’s Risk data, validating data integrity used by senior management, and supporting collection, aggregation and analysis for Country Reports. Responsibilities include coordinating data collection and aggregation globally, performing variance analysis and providing insights on major exposure and stress variances across financial products; representing Country Risk Middle Office at quarterly review meetings; conducting ad-hoc data collection and review for countries requiring heightened scrutiny; driving process improvements to enhance data aggregation, reporting and controls; building partnerships with Country Risk Management, Market Risk, Credit Risk, and other Risk Reporting teams; performing data quality checks with a control mindset to proactively identify and resolve issues; overseeing processes to meet SLAs and ensuring effective, efficient operation of the team. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 4+ years of relevant experience, knowledge of financial products, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with Excel/PowerPoint; additional skills in data science tools (e.g., Python, Tableau, Alteryx) are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Market Risk, Credit Risk, Product Control or Financial Reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, accounting, finance or a business-related field
- Knowledge of financial products across a range of asset classes – Credit, Rates, FX, Equities, commodities and others
- Strong analytical, organizational skills and keen attention to details
- Ability to multitask, work independently and make continuous progress towards meeting business objectives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize information and present to senior management clearly and confidently
- Strong team player who can work well with colleagues of various levels and across regions
- Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Knowledge of data science (e.g. Machine learning), data analytics platforms (e.g. Alteryx), data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) and programming languages (e.g. Python)
