Job Summary
Own day-to-day operations across company-owned and franchise stores by driving consistency, optimizing throughput, and ensuring guest experience at every location. Lead from the floor through regular in-store visits, periodic shifts during peak hours, and direct ownership of opening, closing, and peak-hour procedures. Improve kitchen efficiency by optimizing prep times, testing new devices, and rolling out successful operational flows. Manage delivery platform operations as the single point of contact and act as Operations' point of contact with founders for product development. Build and run the remote operations model for non-Berlin stores while defining franchise KPIs and managing underperformance through coaching or intervention. Lead the Restaurant Operations function, including hiring Ops Managers and Store Managers, running quarterly performance reviews, and building a culture of accountability. Own new store launches from pre-launch through the first 90 days, ensuring all new locations ramp to Berlin standards. Partner cross-functionally with Expansion, Marketing, People, and Finance to align on store readiness, local activations, hiring pipelines, and cost performance.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in operations leadership in QSR, fast casual, or system gastronomy
- Direct ownership of 5+ outlets at minimum
- Proven results on consistency, throughput, and store-level P&L
- Hands-on operator's instinct: ability to read a kitchen at a glance, spot what's broken, and fix it on the same shift
- Ability to act as an owner, not a manager – taking full accountability for operational performance, driving issues to resolution, and providing leadership and support during critical business situations
- Track record building and rolling out playbooks, audit systems, and store-manager certification programs that survive scale
- Experience leading and developing a multi-layered ops team (managers, trainers, store leaders)
- Numbers-literacy regarding labor cost, food cost, throughput, audit scores, and opening readiness
- Ability to defend an operating model in a room with Finance
- Fluency in German and English (C1 minimum in both, used daily)
- Location in Berlin or genuine commitment to relocating to Berlin
