Job Summary

Strategically manage the Special Mining Lease approval process for Frieda River, including input into the Feasibility Study, EIS, MDC, and Landholder Compensation Agreements. Develop and maintain strong government relationships in PNG and leverage trilateral relations for funding opportunities. Represent PanAust in joint venture meetings, coordinate external communication strategies, and facilitate business meetings across PNG, Australia, and China. Manage a portfolio of health, education, and infrastructure development projects while supporting negotiations with government authorities and commercial entities. This Brisbane-based role reports to the Project Director Frieda River and requires extensive community affairs experience in mining within PNG. PanAust offers a competitive salary package for this experienced professional.

Required Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, social planning/community development, natural resources management, or related fields
  • Extensive community affairs experience in mining within PNG
  • Excellent working knowledge and best practice stakeholder engagement theory and practice
  • Proven expertise in delivering community development projects on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership skills, including management of consultants
  • High levels of personal and professional ethics and integrity
