Job Summary
Senior leadership role directing MAG’s Nigeria programme and overseeing smaller projects in Benin and Côte d’Ivoire. Lead strategic direction, ensure high-quality programme delivery, and strengthen MAG’s presence and partnerships in-country. Represent MAG to government authorities, donors, and partners; oversee budgets, security management, monitoring and evaluation, and compliance with donor requirements and international standards. Drive business development, proposal development, and regional coordination, while managing multidisciplinary teams across complex operating environments. Requires substantial international senior-management experience, in-country familiarity, and fluency in French and English.
Required Qualifications
- Substantial international senior management experience
- Experience living and working in-country with understanding of local context and regulatory frameworks
- Proven experience directing large-scale programmes with end-to-end management (implementation, monitoring & evaluation, risk assessment, contract compliance)
- Strong people management skills leading multidisciplinary and multicultural teams (often in remote/complex environments)
- Proven expertise in new business development, programme design, networking, and contract negotiation
- Experience cultivating relationships with donors, government bodies, other NGOs, and local partners
- Experience managing financial, administrative, and human resources systems to ensure programme delivery
- Demonstrated commitment to gender, equity and diversity in teams
- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken)
- Understanding of West Africa and Gulf of Guinea contexts
- Ability to develop and oversee annual business plans and strategic direction
