Counterparty Credit Underwriter (Assistant Vice President)

Job Summary
Perform full credit underwriting for Citi Global Wealth lending activities, including Securities Backed Lending, Commercial Real Estate, Aircraft, and Art-backed Finance. Conduct financial analysis, cash flow modeling, and collateral evaluations while assessing derivative and structured product exposures. Prepare Credit Greenlight Memos, Credit Applications, and facility documentation, negotiating terms with internal and external legal counsel. Monitor portfolio risk through annual credit reviews, covenant tracking, and compliance oversight to identify emerging credit issues and manage classified loans. Collaborate with Lending Advisors, Client Management teams, and Independent Risk partners to deliver sound credit decisions and safeguard firm assets.
Required Qualifications
- 6-10 years of relevant banking experience
- Strong and proven analytical, financial structuring, and execution skills
- Experience as a credit officer or underwriter
- Strong knowledge of Citibank's Credit Policies, Product Programs, and Citi Policies
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, including financial statement analysis and cash flow modeling
- Strong knowledge of derivatives and structured products, including options, futures, forwards, swaps, structured notes, and other complex investment instruments, with the ability to assess their impact on credit risk, leverage, liquidity, and portfolio concentration
- Experience analyzing complex investment portfolios and incorporating derivative exposures into credit underwriting, risk assessment, and portfolio monitoring
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Strong initiative and an interactive approach to problem-solving
- Demonstrated flexibility and independence in a demanding environment
- Team player
- Bachelor's/University degree required
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- It would be an added advantage if the candidate is recognized as a technical authority in this field
