Job Summary
Open bags of soiled textiles, sort them by type, size, and color, and count items manually or electronically. Identify damaged or abused textiles, record findings into sorting systems, and transfer materials to other departments. Comply with Spindle Job Classification efficiency and safety standards while wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment. Function in a team environment within an industrial laundry facility handling textiles from restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, and shops. Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and stooping or bending throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- Flexibility to perform different tasks within the team based on daily operational needs
- Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to reach overhead
- Must be able to push and pull carts or bins
- Must be able to grasp and handle textiles
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stoop or bend
- Must comply with Spindle Job Classification efficiency and safety standards for the position
- Must follow policy and procedures related to wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to work in production areas of an industrial laundry facility with exposure to temperature variations, humidity, odors, lint, and dust
- Must be able to open bag of soiled textiles
- Must be able to sort textiles by type, size and color
- Must be able to count textiles manually or electronically
- Must be able to transfer textiles into sorting systems
- Must be able to identify damaged or abused textiles
- Must be able to record into sorting systems
- Must be able to function in a team environment
- Must be able to support production flow
