Job Summary
Open bags of soiled textiles, sort them by type, size, and color, and count items manually or electronically. Identify damaged or abused textiles, record findings into sorting systems, and transfer items to other departments. Comply with Spindle Job Classification efficiency and safety standards while wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment. Function in a team environment supporting production flow with flexibility to perform different tasks based on daily operational needs. Perform physical tasks throughout the shift, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and handling textiles in industrial laundry areas.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to reach overhead
- Must be able to push and pull carts or bins
- Must be able to grasp and handle textiles
- Must be able to stoop or bend
- Must be able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift
- Must comply with Spindle Job Classification efficiency and safety standards for the position
- Must follow policy and procedures related to wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
